Create and revoke a token

Create a personal API token in Settings → API, copy it once, and revoke it there when an app no longer needs it.

Checked on Oct 1, 2026

You need the Label plan to create a token. See API access on the Label plan. Create and revoke tokens while signed in to the app: a token cannot create or revoke other tokens.

Create a token

  1. Check that the right workspace is active. The token reads the data of the workspace you are in now.
  2. Open Settings → API and select New token.
  3. Type a Token name that tells you where you use it, for example "CI pipeline". Select Create token.
  4. Select Copy token and store the token in a safe place, such as a password manager or your app's secret settings.
  5. Select I have stored it.
This is the only time the full token is shown. After that, the list shows only its first characters. Treat the token like a password: anyone who holds it can use your Music24 account through the API, not only read it. It cannot change your email, manage tokens or delete the account. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.

See your tokens

Settings → API lists your active tokens of the current workspace with their name, the start of the token, when you created it and when it was Last used. Never means no request used it yet.

Revoke a token

  1. In Settings → API, find the token in the list. On the web, select the bin icon next to it. In the apps, select Revoke.
  2. In Revoke this token?, select Revoke token.

Any app that uses the token stops working right away. You cannot undo this. Revoking frees a slot, so you can create a new token.

In the iPhone and Android apps

Settings → API in the apps works the same way. The Token name field and Create token are always on the page, the new token shows under Your new token, and each token in the list has a Revoke button.

Questions

I lost my API token. Can I see it again?

No. We show the full token only once. Revoke the lost token in Settings → API and create a new one.

Does signing out revoke my API tokens?

No. Signing out ends your app sessions, but tokens keep working until you revoke them. Leaving a workspace, being removed from it, or deleting your account ends its tokens.

Why can I not create another token?

You can hold 5 active tokens. Revoke one you no longer use, then create the new one.
