Plan a release on your calendar
The Plan tab of a song puts the whole release rollout, or a push for a song that is already out, on your calendar as drafts in one click.
Open Promote → Releases, click a song and open the Plan tab. A song that comes out soon, or came out in the last 14 days, shows its release rollout. A song that is older shows Push with two plans.
Add the rollout to your calendar
- Under Post on, pick the channels. Connected channels and channels with a saved handle both work. With no channel, click Connect a channel.
- Read the days. Each day shows the asset it posts. A day whose asset is not made yet shows Make it: click it to make the asset first.
- Click Add N drafts to the calendar.
- Open the calendar, check each draft and approve it. A draft goes out only after you give it a time.
The days of the plan
The release rollout starts 14 days before the release: a pre-save story, a teaser reel 10 days before, countdown stories 7, 3 and 1 days before, the out now post on release day and a second reel 7 days after. Each post goes out at the best time of its channel. Stories go only to the channels that have stories. The day after the release is a task, not a post: add the Canvas loop in Spotify for Artists. We email you a reminder.
A day that is already in the past moves to today, one post per channel at its best time. You can change every date on the calendar.
Push has two plans that start today: A spike (7 days), four posts in one week, and Evergreen (4 weeks), one post a week for a month.
The release rollout counts its days from the release date. With no date, the tab says Add the release date in the catalog first. You can still push the song.
The drafts show on the Calendar, where you edit the caption, give a time or delete a draft. See Calendar and post statuses.
Questions
Where is the Campaigns screen?
The Plan tab of each song replaced it. Each song has one plan. The posts of an older campaign stay on your calendar.
What happens if I click Add drafts twice?
Nothing new. A day that is on your calendar already shows Already on your calendar, and the second click adds only the days that were missing.
Do I need a plan to post?
No. A post from Composer needs no plan. The plan only books the posts of one song for you.
